 Knowing my yacht was being looked after by SCYM always put my mind at ease.  The staff is knowledgeable and always very attentive to my requests.  It is a great feeling, to fly down at any point and see the boat looking like it was was just out of the show room inside and out. It just reassures us that we chose the correct yacht management company.

“I found my “perfect” boat, a  1995 Blackfin 33 with Cat 3208 TA 375 Hp engines, via United Yachts. However, while doing the sea trial, several “needs fixing” became apparent. 1. Electrical system needed updating 2. Entire boat wanted a TLC detail 3. Engines required a thorough check up 4. Boat needed a new bottom job. 5. I wanted some customization done. But herein was the challenge, I lived on the West Gulf coast in Punta Gorda and the boat was on the East coast at Stuart, Florida. Should I bring the boat to Punta Gorda or get it done in Stuart? Punta Gorda had Less resources and was more expensive. Stuart had More resources, but I couldn’t be there to supervise the refit. 

Chris Cooke, of United Yachts advised me that they had a one stop refit service, SCYM  Yacht Management that also did deliveries. The boat was already at their dock, so I would NOT be charged dock fees. Score 1. They would do all the work except the bottom, which would require dry docking...however they would get me the best deal possible and move the boat. Score 2. All the work would be discussed beforehand as to my requirements and thoroughly documented for parts and labor. Score 3. Chris also told me that their refit philosophy was “do it as if it was their own boat”. Which translated to, the most reasonable and safe results possible. They would use unskilled labor to do the grunt work, but certified professionals where needed, thus saving a bunch of money. Score 4. I was sold. As work began, I hesitated calling everyday to check on the progress, but Chris actually encouraged it. Score 5. As the refit progressed, needless to say, I was impressed. They did great work AND provided free consultation after they delivered the boat for me. I give Chris and his team 4 stars and highly recommend them.
